Child Dental Benefits Schedule
We believe that every child deserves access to quality dental care. So, naturally, our practice welcomes children who are eligible for dental care under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule.
What is the Child Dental Benefits Schedule?
Under the schedule, eligible children aged 2-17 are able to access dental care via private dental practitioners. This means that children can visit a participating private dentist of their choice.
Another benefit of the Child Dental Benefits Schedule is that children may receive dental care more quickly, as many Public Dental Clinics have long waiting times.
The benefit provides up to $1052 per child over two consecutive calendar years. Eligible children receive their treatment on a bulk billing basis at our practice. This means that there are no out-of-pocket expenses for treatment provided as part of the Schedule.
Dental Services Available Under the Schedule
The schedule provides general and preventative dental services, including:
- Examinations (check-ups)
- X-rays
- Professional teeth cleaning
- Fissure sealants
- Fillings
- Pulp therapy
- Extractions
Dental Services Not Available Under the Schedule
The Schedule does not cover services like:
- orthodontics (plates and braces)
- cosmetic dental treatment
- dental work that is done in a hospital
How Does It Work?
After your child’s initial appointment, Dr Teo will let you know whether any treatment is required, and she’ll provide an estimate of the likely costs. She will ask for your consent to treatment, and our friendly front office team will schedule any follow-up appointments for your child’s treatment.
If you don’t know how much of your child’s allocation is still available, we would be pleased to look that information up for you.
